Incentives for Homeowners
If you wish to upgrade from electricity to efficient natural gas, we’d like to lend a hand. If you qualify for one of our Comfort Plus Energy Conservation Programs, then we will reimburse you for the amount of the appropriate incentive listed below. These programs have certain terms and conditions and are limited to available budgeted funds. These incentives apply only to residences located on an ESP distribution line.
Residential rebates*:
- $1,000 incentive for a tankless water heater per home when replacing your electric or natural gas water heater. Watch our TV commercial to learn about this incentive.
- Bonus $200 rebate- expires 8/31/08. Switch from electric to natural gas water heating and get an additional $200 rebate toward the purchase of another natural gas appliance of your choice. Simply purchase another natural gas appliance, such as a stove, outdoor grill or fireplace insert, have it installed and earn an additional $200 rebate.
- $850 incentive when replacing an electric water heater with an efficient natural gas water heater.
- $400 incentive when replacing an electric heating system with efficient natural gas heating or upgrading from space heating to natural gas furnace central heating.
- $350 incentive when replacing a propane water heater with an efficient natural gas water heater.
- $100 incentive when replacing propane appliances with efficient natural gas appliances.
- $350 incentive when replacing a natural gas water heater with a newer, more efficient natural gas water heater.
Residential rebates for water heaters if ESP does the gas piping*:
- FREE 40-Gallon water heater (for both gas to gas and electric to gas tank)
- $1,000 for a tankless water heater, one per home.

*Rebate offers available to residential customers in ESP Natural Gas serviceable areas. One appliance rebate per household allowed. Appliance rebate application form must be submitted to ESP Natural Gas along with the original purchase receipt. An ESP Natural Gas representative will make a site visit to verify appliance installation. Please allow 4-6 weeks for rebate processing.
