What To Do If You Smell Natural Gas
If you smell natural gas and suspect a small natural gas leak in your home, take the following steps:
- Open all doors and windows.
- Shut off your natural gas supply, if possible.
- Call ESP Emergency Services at 850-474-5300 for help.
If the odor is strong and you think you may have a large natural gas leak, follow these instructions:
- Have everyone leave your home immediately.
- Do not operate light switches, your telephone, or any electric appliances.
- Do not connect or disconnect any power plugs from electric outlets.
- Do not light a match or lighter.
- From a neighbor's phone, call ESP Emergency Services immediately at 850-474-5300.
ESP Emergency Services personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
When the problem has been corrected, call 850-474-5300 and ESP will turn on your natural gas and relight your appliances.
